News from the world of Schürholz

On International Children's Day today, 20.09.2023, a blood donation campaign took place on the Schürholz Group's premises. For the third time in a row, colleagues from Elaflex Hiby, Gris Umformtechnik and Schürholz donated blood. But it is not only in children's hospitals that there is a major shortage of blood. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 82 percent of all people worldwide need blood components at least once in their lives. We are delighted that almost 50 employees from the three companies have taken part in this campaign and will hopefully be able to save lives! We would like to thank all donors and the DRK team for this success!

We would like to congratulate our employee Patrycja Bernacka on 14 years of service at the Polish site.
Our plant in Sroda Slaska is also celebrating a small anniversary this year. Our production site was officially put into operation 15 years ago. This makes Ms. Bernacka the longest-serving employee for our company in Poland and she has played a key role in the company's growth. We would like to thank her for the good, trusting and always committed cooperation and wish her all the best for the future!

We would like to congratulate our apprentice Jan-Felix Klein on completing his apprenticeship as a tool mechanic. Jan-Felix Klein is one of 137 trainees who completed their vocational training this year with the top grade of "very good". We are very proud of his achievement and are delighted that he will continue to support us at the Schürholz Group with his specialist knowledge!

Six trainers and 10 trainees went to the annual trainee event in Cologne on September 8, 2023. First, the participants - divided into teams - were allowed to compete against each other in various exciting disciplines in the four categories "sport, tactics, knowledge and skill" at the so-called "Buddy Bash". The candidates were able to get to know each other better during the various games. After a shared lunch, everyone went to a climbing hall to recharge their batteries. Here, the focus was on mutual trust and support from team colleagues. The day ended with a delicious meal in a brewery before the group headed back to Plettenberg.

Yesterday, in the best weather, we were able to thank three jubilarians for their many years of service to the Schürholz Group! Mr. Herbert Rez can look back on 45 years of service since 01.07.2023 and has been strengthening our team as a tool mechanic since 1978. Mr. Michael Otto joined the Schürholz company on 15.07.1998, Mr. Jörg Holthaus on 01.08.1998. Both have been an integral part of our maintenance department for 25 years, for which we are very grateful! Supervisors, colleagues, works council and management were able to congratulate Mr. Rez, Mr. Otto and Mr. Holthaus on this extraordinary achievement over a hearty breakfast! Thank you for a total of 95 years of commitment, loyalty and valuable work!

A new phase of life began yesterday for seven trainees - their training at the Schürholz Group in Plettenberg. We are delighted to be able to accompany our new trainees on this journey. During an exciting company presentation and an extensive tour of the company, the trainees were able to gain an initial insight into our company. We wish them all a pleasant start to their careers and look forward to a great time together!!!

The Ideas Management Year 2022 was successfully completed in the middle of this year at the two plants in Plettenberg and Środa Śląska. Overall, the employees' suggestions for improvement resulted in fantastic savings of almost €140,000. In the department comparison, the "Financial Accounting & Controlling" department at the Plettenberg site and the "Administration" department at the Środa Śląska site came out on top and were named "Most Innovative Department 2022". The departments received a joint team event as a prize. In addition, Mr. Gerd Reichling (Sales) at the Plettenberg site and Ms. Eva Pokrywka (Administration) at the Środa Śląska site were named "Most Innovative Employee 2022". The three best-placed employees at each location received a special bonus in addition to the award. We would like to thank our employees for their commitment and great suggestions for improvement

Around 5500 runners from 320 companies were registered for the major event in Lüdenscheid on June 16. Teamschuerholz was also at the start of the 19th AOK company run in Lüdenscheid. Under the motto "We join in. Inclusion runs!" and beautiful weather, the colleagues mastered a distance of 6 km!

We have been working successfully with the Feelgood fitness studios for several years to promote health in the workplace. In this context, the 2nd Feelgood Company Cup was launched to create a sporting incentive in addition to promoting team spirit. Last Friday, 3 teams (employees of Hiby, Gris & Schürholz) competed to determine the winner of the Feelgoodcub. All teams were highly motivated and fought exciting and thrilling duels on the sports field. There were 6 disciplines to be completed: Relay race (4 × 400 meters), push-ups, 30 minutes of indoor cycling, plank, 30 minutes of endurance running and tug-of-war. The teams not only fought for every point with great ambition, but also with a lot of fun. The teams spent six months preparing for this competition and it was worth it for us: WE WON!

Angelo Castrignano began his career at Schürholz 25 years ago today as a QA employee. After taking over as QA manager some time later, he moved to the sales department, where he subsequently became sales manager. In 2011, he was appointed Managing Director of Schürholz Stanztechnik. On this occasion, the works council, shareholders, management, management circle and our former, now retired employee Franz-Josef Specht came together today to congratulate Mr. Castrignano. We are extremely pleased and would like to thank Mr. Castrignano for 25 years of drive, inventiveness and entrepreneurial skill!
